CEAAC is an association founded in 1987 and reflects the determination of Alsatian elected assemblies to underpin and foster the development of art in the region today. The association has a threefold objective:
- Increasing public awareness of contemporary art, notably among a younger audience, by teaching them to appreciate it through the monumental sculptures in public areas, holding exhibitions in its art centre and advising local authorities on art.
- Encouraging international exchanges through residences and exhibitions.
